Jake the Raven of Rockland, MA origins is the previously-solo project of singer/songwriter Jacob Gillis who now serves the roles of lead vocalist/guitarist, engineer, and producer. Established in late 2022, it began as a studio only act and has evolved to include live performances with the addition of bassist "Don" Cole Larson and drummer Tanner Kereszturi. Courtesy of his upbringing, Jacob's main musical influences for Jake the Raven revolve around the major rock bands of the 60's and 70's (such as Fleetwood Mac, The Rolling Stones, and The Beatles) as well as edgier modern groups to include Foo Fighters and Nirvana. While many of his songs have a light-hearted feel on the surface, the lyrics penned by Jacob speak of darker times in his life presented in an almost satirical and catchy way.

 

Jake the Raven is currently based out of Raven's Keep Records in Boone, NC.
